Assistant Regional Director

 Dr. DheerendraPratap Singh joined IGNOU as Assistant Regional Director in 2006 . He has served for over a decade at the Regional Centres of Kolkata, Patna Deoghar and is currently posted as Assistant Regional Director at Regional Centre (Delhi – 2). He has gained a rich work experience while working at the field level, offering direct student support and obtaining first hand feedback.

He has handled various assignments successfully during his tenure of service at each regional centre, ranging from providing student support by being the in charge of admissions, assignments, practical, viva voce, term end exams etc from time to time.

He has rendered his services in various capacities as convener, nodal officer, member of several committees constituted from time to time by the authorities such as admission, evaluation, preparation of date sheet, identification of exam centers and observers, establishment of LSCs, Distribution of SLM and RTI related issues during his work in different Regional Centers.

 As special responsibilities, in the capacity of member of the Committee, he has also handled the evaluation of answer scripts of over 3 lakh sponsored teacher students of the Government of Bihar for three successive term end exams during 2008-10 . He was a member of the Date sheet restructuring committee of the University in 2017 and was deputed to the Centralised Students Registration Cell  (CSRC) of the  Student Registration Division (SRD) for some time in 2017-18 for  admission management .

He was also associated with Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANU) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) as member of search committee for establishment of study centres.

He has delivered talks and addressed students and academics in the colleges and LSCs on several occasions. He has also acted  as a recourse person to talks on student support services through interactive Radio counseling in Akash Vani  Kolkata, Akash Vani Patna  and Gyan Vani, EMPC  IGNOU. 

He holds a Ph.D in Ancient History from VBS Purvanchal University and is UGC – NET qualified. He completed B.Ed from RML Awadh Vishvidyalaya, Faizabad, UP. He has quite a number of publications in journals   and also has several reports and brochures to his credit that were prepared from time to time at different Regional Centres. His areas of interest include education , history and rural / tribal  development through education.
