Dr Ataur Rahman

Assistant Regional Director

Dr. Ataur-Rahman is currently posted in Regional Center Delhi -2 Gandhi Smiti Darshan Rajgaht as Assistant Regional Director. Prior to join IGNOU Dr. Ataur-Rahman worked in Sultanate of Oman Embassy, New Delhi as Academic Supervisor to facilitate Omani students  (Foreign National) studying in Indian Universities and Colleges across India. He was the focal point to coordinate with the Indian Ministries, University Grant Commission, Association of Indian Universities, Central and State Universities and Colleges of repute and Foreign Missions in India and Oman for the matter related to education, equivalence, verification of the certificates and FFRO etc. Dr. Rahman has been awarded Junior Research Fellowship by University Grant Commission (UGC) and done M.Phil and Ph.D in Arabic from Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi.

Dr. Rahman has joined IGNOU in 2011 as Assistant Regional Director and worked in different capacities in many Regional Centers such as Regional Center Aligarh, Regional Services Division (the Nodal office for 56 Regional Centers) and Regional Center Srinagar.  Dr. Rahman has handled several important academic and administrative assignments in headquarter and Regional Centers during the tenure.  Dr. Rahman has several research publications to his credit and he is actively engaged in research work, writing self learning materials, data analysis and preparing reports.  He has also attended several national and international seminars and presented papers apart from rendering services as guest lecturer in JNU.
